Who We Are

Krucial is the name of the English Speaking Congregation of Chinese Southern Baptist Church. We believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life; further, we affirm that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the world and only through believing and surrendering to Him can a person receive salvation. We strive to submit to the authority of the Bible in all our ministries.  Our primary goal is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who are passionate for His glory. Our focus is not limited to Chinese Americans, but rather to spread the gospel to all nations.

Everyone Thirsts After Something

Everyone thirsts after something.  For some, it is their morning coffee when they wake up.  Others, it is the weekend after a long meeting on Wednesday.  It’s that book you can’t put down, or that vacation spot you can’t wait to get back to.  Maybe it’s a hobby or sport that we are good at and just can’t seem to get enough of it.  Or perhaps it’s the girl or guy that your mind for some reason can’t stop thinking about.  Whatever it is, like a parched man in the desert, we all thirst, and thirst deeply.
I was reading Psalm 63 and was challenged by David who thirsted after God.  David wrote that God’s steadfast love was better than life.  We don’t need to increase our thirst…just change our appetite’s craving.  I want to “remember him upon my bed and meditate on Him in the watches of the night” (verse 6).  I pray you would join me in this journey.
